How the World Cup 2027 Ticket Ballot Works
The ICC is using a ballot system for the first ticket phase rather than opening all matches through a first-come, first-served sale.
Choose your matches
Fans select the matches they are interested in and submit a ballot entry for each fixture.
A person may enter for multiple matches across the tournament, but only one ballot entry can be submitted by that person for a particular match.
Submit your entry
Up to four tickets can be requested for each selected fixture.
Fans can also select their preferred ticket category when completing their application.
No payment is required when entering the ballot.
Allocation is assessed
After the ballot period closes, demand will be assessed match by match.
If the number of applications for a fixture is greater than the available ticket allocation, access to buy those tickets will be determined through a randomised ballot.
Check your email
Successful applicants will then be contacted using the email address provided during registration and given instructions for the ticket purchasing process.
If a fixture is not oversubscribed, registered fans may receive access to purchase available tickets, with remaining inventory potentially becoming available during later ticket-sale phases.
Is the Ticket Ballot First Come, First Served?
No.
There is no advantage in entering the ballot on the first day rather than later in the registration period.
A valid application submitted on 1 October and a valid application submitted closer to the 21 November deadline are considered on the same basis.
This is important for high-demand matches.
Fans do not need to rush through their application simply because a major game such as India vs Pakistan is expected to attract significant interest.
The important requirement is to submit a valid application before the ballot closes.
How Much Are World Cup 2027 Tickets?
The ICC has announced ticket pricing starting at approximately R158 for entry-level tickets and rising to around R514 for the highest-tier matches.
At the exchange rates referenced when the ticket programme was announced, that represented roughly USD $9.50 to USD $30.
Actual prices depend on the selected fixture, ticket category and applicable currency conversion.
| Ticket Level | Announced Price Range |
|---|---|
| Entry-level tickets | From approximately R158 |
| Higher-tier matches | Up to approximately R514 |
The figures above should not be interpreted as meaning every match has the same price.
An early Group Stage fixture, a premium rivalry match, a semi-final and the World Cup final may have different categories and availability.
Fans should always check the price displayed for their selected match on the official ticket portal before completing a purchase.
Special Ticket Options
The World Cup ticket programme has been designed to provide different options for local communities and different groups of supporters.
The ICC has announced special consideration for:
The exact availability and conditions may differ between matches and locations.
A special category should therefore only be treated as available for a particular booking when it is shown on the official ticket platform.
Can I Buy World Cup 2027 Tickets Right Now?
Not through a normal Buy Now process.
The current official phase is the ticket ballot.
Fans can register for the matches they want to attend, but no ticket is purchased or paid for during ballot registration.
Successful applicants will receive an opportunity to complete their purchase later.
This distinction is important because entering the ballot does not mean that a ticket has been secured.
Direct public sale details for remaining inventory may be released in later phases.

Tickets for India vs Pakistan
India and Pakistan will meet in Group A at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 10 October 2027.
The fixture is already included in the official World Cup schedule and fans can select it when entering the ticket ballot.
Because applications are handled through the ballot system, submitting earlier does not improve a fan’s chances.
Fans interested in this match should use the official portal and complete the application before the ballot closes on 21 November 2026.
If applications exceed the available allocation, purchase access will be determined through the randomised ballot.
Tickets for the World Cup 2027 Final
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 final will be played at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 21 November 2027.
The finalists are not yet known, but fans do not need to wait for the competing teams to be decided before applying for the match.
The final is part of the current ticket ballot.
The tournament also has a reserve day on 22 November if required.
Ticket holders should check the final event terms issued by the official ticket provider for any match-specific arrangements.
Semi-Final Tickets
Two semi-finals will determine which teams reach Johannesburg.
| Match | Date | Venue |
|---|---|---|
| Semi-final 1 | 17 November 2027 | Cape Town |
| Semi-final 2 | 18 November 2027 | Tshwane |
Fans can apply for these matches before knowing which countries will qualify.
Semi-final teams will only be determined after the Super 7 concludes.
Both semi-finals also have reserve days.
World Cup Tickets by Host Country
The tournament is being hosted across three countries.
South Africa Tickets
South Africa contains eight World Cup venues and hosts the majority of matches.
Matches will be played in Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl and KuGompo City.
South Africa also hosts both semi-finals and the final.
Several of the highest-profile confirmed fixtures are in the country, including India vs Australia in Cape Town and India vs Pakistan in Johannesburg.
Zimbabwe Tickets
Zimbabwe hosts matches in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls.
Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club are established international venues, while the new Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls will also stage World Cup matches.
Zimbabwe vs India on 24 October is among the confirmed fixtures in Victoria Falls.
Namibia Tickets
Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek hosts six matches.
The programme begins with all three Super Series fixtures on 2, 4 and 6 October.
Windhoek then hosts three Group Stage matches, including England vs Bangladesh, Sri Lanka vs Qualifier B and England vs Sri Lanka.
Tickets for matches across all three host countries are being handled through the official World Cup ticket ballot.
Can You Apply for Tickets to More Than One Match?
Yes.
Fans are not restricted to one World Cup fixture.
A person can submit a ballot entry for multiple matches across the tournament.
Each match is treated separately.
For example, a supporter could apply for India vs Pakistan, another Group Stage match, a semi-final and the final.
Success in one match ballot does not automatically determine the result of an application for another fixture.
Fans should therefore only select matches they genuinely plan to attend and should review travel requirements before entering multiple ballots in different cities.
How Many Tickets Can One Person Request?
Fans can request up to four tickets per match.
This allows families and small groups to apply together rather than requiring every attendee to submit a completely separate purchase request.
The ballot still applies to the fixture itself, and availability is not guaranteed until the successful applicant is offered access to purchase.
When Will Successful Applicants Know?
Successful and unsuccessful ballot applications will be communicated through the email address provided during registration.
Successful applicants will receive further information explaining how to access the purchasing process.
Fans should therefore use an active email account when entering the ballot and make sure that the information entered during registration is accurate.
The ballot itself does not collect ticket payment.
Where Should You Buy World Cup 2027 Tickets?
Use the official ICC Cricket World Cup ticket portal:
https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/
Fans should be cautious about unofficial websites advertising guaranteed World Cup tickets before an official purchase has been completed.
A fixture appearing on the official schedule does not mean every third-party website claiming to sell a seat for that game is authorised.
The safest route is to begin with the official World Cup ticket platform and follow the purchasing instructions provided there.
What Happens After the Ballot?
The ballot is the first stage of the World Cup 2027 ticket process.
Once the registration period closes, applications will be processed.
For oversubscribed fixtures, the randomised ballot will determine which applicants receive access to purchase.
Successful fans will then be given a defined purchasing window.
Where demand is lower than the ticket allocation, registered fans may receive access to purchase available seats.
Any remaining ticket inventory may then move into future sales phases.
Further direct-sale information should be followed through official World Cup channels as the tournament approaches.
