ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 Schedule: Full Fixtures, Dates and Venues

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 schedule runs from 2 October to 21 November 2027 across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Fourteen teams will take part in 57 matches spread across 12 venues, beginning with the three-match Super Series in Windhoek and ending with the World Cup final in Johannesburg.

The ICC released the complete fixture schedule and tournament groups on 1 October 2026. The main group stage begins on 7 October with India facing defending champions Australia in Cape Town, while India and Pakistan meet three days later at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. The group stage is followed immediately by the 21-match Super 7, two semi-finals and the final.

Unlike the 2023 World Cup, the 2027 edition does not use one ten-team round-robin league. A new tournament format means the fixture list is divided into the Super Series, Group Stage, Super 7 and knockout rounds.

The Group Stage contains 30 matches. Each of the two groups has six teams, with every side playing the other five teams in its group once.

The top three teams from each group qualify for the Super 7. The seventh place goes to the better fourth-placed team across Group A and Group B.

World Cup 2027 Groups

The ICC has placed the confirmed teams into the following groups:

Group AGroup B
IndiaNew Zealand
AustraliaSouth Africa
PakistanSri Lanka
AfghanistanEngland
ZimbabweBangladesh
Qualifier AQualifier B

The two qualifier positions will be finalized after the 2027 Cricket World Cup Qualifier and Super Series have been completed.

Group A contains three of the biggest ODI sides in India, Australia and Pakistan alongside Afghanistan, co-host Zimbabwe and Qualifier A.

Group B includes New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh and Qualifier B.

Biggest Group Stage Matches

The schedule starts strongly rather than saving the major fixtures for later weeks.

India vs Australia, 7 October

The main Group Stage opens at Newlands in Cape Town with India against Australia. It is a rematch of the 2023 Cricket World Cup final, which Australia won to secure their sixth men's ODI world title.

India vs Pakistan, 10 October

India and Pakistan meet in Johannesburg on Sunday, 10 October. The match is part of Group A and will be played at the Wanderers Stadium, which also hosts the World Cup final six weeks later.

South Africa vs New Zealand, 9 October

Co-host South Africa starts its campaign against New Zealand in Cape Town. It is South Africa's first match of the tournament and one of the standout fixtures in Group B.

Zimbabwe vs Pakistan, 19 October

Pakistan travels to Harare for its group match against co-host Zimbabwe on 19 October.

Australia vs Pakistan, 22 October

Australia and Pakistan meet at Boland Park in Paarl on 22 October, with both teams nearing the end of their five-match Group A campaigns.

Zimbabwe vs India, 24 October

The Group Stage concludes at Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls when Zimbabwe faces India on 24 October. The ICC identifies this as the first Cricket World Cup match to be staged at the new Victoria Falls ground.

World Cup 2027 Super 7 Schedule

Seven teams advance from the Group Stage into a fresh round-robin competition. No points are carried forward.

The ICC has pre-seeded seven teams into Super 7 schedule positions to make the potential travel and venue pathway clearer before the competition begins.

The current seeds are:

SeedPre-seeded Team
A1India
A2Australia
A3Pakistan
B1New Zealand
B2South Africa
B3Sri Lanka
AB4England

These are scheduling positions, not guaranteed Super 7 places.

For example, the first Super 7 fixture is A2 against B3. It will be Australia vs Sri Lanka only if both teams qualify. If Sri Lanka fails to advance and another side takes its qualifying place, that team assumes the B3 schedule position.

The Super 7 lasts for three weeks, from 25 October to 14 November, and contains 21 matches. Every qualifying team plays the other six teams once.

The four highest-ranked sides in the Super 7 points table advance to the semi-finals.

World Cup 2027 Semi-Final and Final Schedule

DateMatchVenue
17 NovemberSemi-final 1Cape Town
18 NovemberSemi-final 2Tshwane
21 NovemberFinalJohannesburg

The first-placed Super 7 team plays the fourth-placed side in one semi-final, while second plays third in the other.

Both semi-finals have reserve days. The final at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg also has a reserve day on 22 November if required.

The knockout structure means teams cannot know their exact semi-final opponent until the Super 7 finishes on 14 November.

World Cup 2027 Schedule by Venue

Twelve grounds will share the 57 matches. Based on the official fixture list, the distribution is:

Host CityMatches
Windhoek6
Cape Town6
Johannesburg6
Durban6
Tshwane5
Bloemfontein5
Gqeberha5
Paarl4
KuGompo City4
Harare4
Victoria Falls4
Bulawayo2

Windhoek has an unusual role because all three Super Series matches are played there before it hosts three Group Stage fixtures.

Cape Town hosts the opening Group Stage match and the first semi-final. Tshwane stages the second semi-final, while Johannesburg has major Group Stage and Super 7 matches before hosting the final.

What Time Will World Cup 2027 Matches Start?

The ICC’s published fixture list currently confirms dates and venues for all 57 matches, but start times have not yet been listed for most Group Stage and Super 7 fixtures. The ICC has separately confirmed that both semi-finals and the final will begin at 10:00 local time. Other match timings will be added after official confirmation.

This is worth noting because fixture lists circulating with exact morning or evening times should not be treated as confirmed unless those times come from a later ICC schedule update.

All three host countries use UTC+2. South Africa follows South African Standard Time, while Zimbabwe and Namibia use Central Africa Time. This means there will be no local time-zone difference when the tournament moves between South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

How the 57 Matches Are Divided

The complete schedule can be broken down simply:

StageMatches
Super Series3
Group Stage30
Super 721
Semi-finals2

Total57

This is one of the biggest differences between the 2027 tournament and earlier information that appeared online.

The ICC originally planned a different 14-team structure, but in July 2026 it approved the new Super Series and Super 7 format. Older pages that still show 54 matches and a Super Six stage are based on the previous format and no longer describe the current World Cup structure.
